GALLERY WEEKEND LOS ANGELES features over 100 local galleries and art spaces drawn from both GA(LA)’s membership as well as non-profit art spaces, alternative art spaces, and museums. The 3rd annual event of an ongoing initiative, this Gallery Weekend is focused on making art accessible for both residents and visitors, and underscores the importance of viewing art in person once again.
The annual Gallery Weekend Los Angeles is an event held at the end of July to make art more accessible while celebrating the experience of viewing art in-person. Through GALLERYPLATFORM.LA, a breadth of self-guided options will be available, allowing visitors to create their own itineraries and viewing preferences.
For the third year, GALLERY WEEKEND LOS ANGELES will be sponsored by Snap Inc. The company has a long history of partnering with museums and artists who have illustrated how augmented reality (AR) can heighten the places we love and bring art to new audiences, including Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Alex Israel, Christian Marclay, Centre Pompidou, Damien Hirst, Lauren Halsey, Mark Bradford, and more. Snap will bring the Gallery Map to life through AR, and will feature LACMA x Snapchat: Monumental Perspectives AR experiences unveiled over the past few years as a part of a three year initiative.
Gallery Weekend Los Angeles attendees can find these augmented reality monuments located across the city on the event’s interactive map, letting attendees easily find and experience works from Monumental Perspectives.

GA(LA) is a coalition of over 100 Los Angeles galleries that have joined together during the COVID-19 pandemic to create and promote engagement with the local and international art audience. Together, they support GALLERYPLATFORM.LA, and are the organizers of Gallery Weekend Los Angeles.
GA(LA) is grateful to East West Bank for its sponsorship of the Artist Visits on GALLERYPLATFORM.LA
